Author Guidelines

Digital Communication Research welcomes original research articles, theoretical studies, case analyses, and critical reviews that contribute to the understanding of digital communication in the context of technological innovation. Authors are encouraged to read these guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts.

A. Submission Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system.
  • Manuscripts must not be under review or published elsewhere.
  • Authors must register and log in to submit a manuscript and track its progress.

B. Manuscript Types

We accept the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles (5,000–8,000 words)
  • Theoretical Papers (4,000–7,000 words)
  • Case Studies (3,000–6,000 words)
  • Critical Reviews (2,000–4,000 words)

Word counts include references, tables, and figures.

C. Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English (either American or British, but consistent throughout). Authors whose native language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited.

D. Formatting Guidelines

  • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing.
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Submit in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  • Include page numbers and continuous line numbers.

E. Manuscript Structure       

A typical manuscript should include the following sections:

  • Title Page (with title, author names, affiliations, and contact information)
  • Abstract (150–250 words) and Keywords (3–6 keywords)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
  • Methodology
  • Results / Findings
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

Tables and figures must be embedded in the text and numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

F. Referencing Style

  • Use APA (7th edition) citation and referencing style.
  • Ensure all in-text citations have corresponding entries in the reference list and vice versa.

       Example:
       In-text: (Jones & Smith, 2021)
       Reference List:
       Jones, M., & Smith, L. (2021). Digital media and social interaction. Routledge.

  1. Ethical Considerations
  • All research involving human participants must adhere to ethical standards and include evidence of ethics approval where applicable.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.

  • All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • The review process typically takes 6–8 weeks.
  • Authors will be notified of the editorial decision and may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscripts.

  • Authors retain the copyright of their work.
  • All published articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
