Digital Communication Research (DCR) is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing the study and understanding of digital communication phenomena in Indonesia and beyond. Published by the Tim Riset Komunikasi at Yayasan Akademia Nusa Publika in collaboration with the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Mulawarman, this journal seeks to fill a critical gap in scholarly discourse on digitalization across cultural, media, academic, political, and democratic contexts.

The rapid development of digital communication technologies has transformed how individuals, communities, and institutions interact, share information, and construct meaning. While these changes have been widely discussed globally, Indonesia still lacks a dedicated platform that comprehensively explores digitalization processes in various spheres of society. DCR emerges as a response to this need, providing a forum for interdisciplinary research that bridges theoretical frameworks and empirical studies.
